Managing local snapshots

In Terminal enter the following commands:

1) List local snapshots:

tmutil listlocalsnapshots /

where / the mount point of the drive. A list of local snapshots on that drive will show.

2) Delete local snapshot:

sudo tmutil deletelocalsnapshots 2018-03-01-002010

Replace 2018-03-01-002010 with the date (name) of the snapshot you want to delete

3) Alternatively, you can delete all local snapshots with the following script. Copy-paste it in Terminal:

for d in $(tmutil listlocalsnapshotdates | grep "-"); do sudo tmutil deletelocalsnapshots $d; done
